Combating Climate Change
Each day in this country twenty-two veterans commit suicide. Our nation made a promise to those who serve; that when they return home they will be cared for; Washington is failing at that promise.
Whether it be the mountains of governmental red-tape preventing veterans from receiving the first-class healthcare they deserve; or members of Congress failing to appropriate funds so that our returning service members can get the education they earned; we can do better, must do better.
Isiah will fight to honor veterans by:
Enacting federal legislation that fully funds and expands the VA, so that every veteran gets the care that he or she has earned and deserves.
Substantially improving the processing of Veterans claims for compensation.
Enacting federal legislation that expands the VA’s “Caregivers Program”.
Enacting federal legislation that expands access to mental health services for Veterans.
Enacting federal legislation that makes comprehensive dental care available to all veterans at the VA.
Enacting federal legislation that provides unified family care within the VA for veteran family members.
Ensuring that veteran’s health is a part of the goals and leadership expectation of any health care entity that may care for veterans.
Enacting federal legislation that establishes a program to conduct research on veteran-specific conditions throughout the health care system.
Ensuring federal funds for the important role that academic medical centers (AMCs) play in veterans’ health.
