Combating Climate Change

Each day in this country twenty-two veterans commit suicide. Our nation made a promise to those who serve; that when they return home they will be cared for; Washington is failing at that promise.

Whether it be the mountains of governmental red-tape preventing veterans from receiving the first-class healthcare they deserve; or members of Congress failing to appropriate funds so that our returning service members can get the education they earned; we can do better, must do better.

Isiah will fight to honor veterans by:

  • Enacting federal legislation that fully funds and expands the VA, so that every veteran gets the care that he or she has earned and deserves.

  • Substantially improving the processing of Veterans claims for compensation.

  • Enacting federal legislation that expands the VA’s “Caregivers Program”.

  • Enacting federal legislation that expands access to mental health services for Veterans.

  • Enacting federal legislation that makes comprehensive dental care available to all veterans at the VA.

  • Enacting federal legislation that provides unified family care within the VA for veteran family members.

  • Ensuring that veteran’s health is a part of the goals and leadership expectation of any health care entity that may care for veterans.

  • Enacting federal legislation that establishes a program to conduct research on veteran-specific conditions throughout the health care system.

  • Ensuring federal funds for the important role that academic medical centers (AMCs) play in veterans’ health.
